Application‑Aware Writer Integration
XZBACKUP’s Application‑Aware Writer integration leverages Windows VSS Writers
to deliver application-consistent
backups for enterprise-grade systems like OracleDB, MailStore Server, Dynamics CRM, SharePoint, Pervasive PSQL, and
other VSS‑aware software. Instead of backing up all files, XZBACKUP intelligently invokes the relevant VSS Writer
and captures only the application‑protected components—ensuring coherent snapshots without requiring full disk
imaging.
This VSS‑based method supports Full, Copy, Incremental, and Differential backup modes, optimizes storage with
deduplication and compression, streams directly to XZBACKUP storage without
local spooling, and encrypts data with
AES‑256 throughout. Restores are granular—you can retrieve entire application sets or individual components—while
central management enables live configuration, flexible scheduling, retention policies, detailed logging, email
alerts, and pre/post‑job scripts. HIPAA and GDPR compliance are built in.
